You'll feel at Home in Our House

History of Our House

This 1909 arts & crafts/colonial-revival style home was built as a private residence for Samuel A. and Lelia Carson. The playhouse that sits to the right of the home was built in 1936 for granddaughter Mary Carson. In 1960, Dr. French H. and Helen Moore purchased the home from the Carson estate. Members of the Moore family opened the Moore Music House and later on the house was host to many other businesses, some of which were a real estate agency, arts and craft shop, cigar shop, masseuse and a candy shop. All the while, the upper level was an apartment. The Moore family sold the home in 2004 and it sat empty until the Spring of 2008 when Tim and Bubs Nichols purchased it. After extensive renovations, the house now operates as a casual fine dining restaurant. We hope you enjoy the architectural beauty, the antique furnishings and the warm atmosphere that only time can create. Once again, do enjoy the house as well as your visit with us.
